Keys, Key-Cards and Building Access

The following are building access policies:

  • A $5.00 deposit is required per key. Desk keys, if requested, will require a $10 deposit per key. All deposits will be refunded when keys are returned by the borrower.
  • Physics graduate students, post docs will be able to request access to all outside doors and Research Library. Please fill out the Key and Access Request Form and have your group's staff assistant sign it, then submit it to Maggie Kenar (Jefferson 367; phone: 6-1202; (), or leave it in in Maggie's mailbox). Allow at least 48 hours for form processing.
  • Undergraduate physics concentrators: please use the Key and Access Request Form , above, but have David Morin sign it before submitting.
  • Those not affiliated with physics department may obtain keys and cards only on written request from a faculty or staff member.
  • Official visitors to the department may obtain temporary key cards permitting access to the building .
  • Anyone who violates the Physics building rules risks the loss of all building access. Keys to Physics Department facilities are for your personal use only. Duplication or loaning of any Physics building keys or cards is a very serious offense; any person found with a key, key card, or ID card which does not belong to him/her, will be reported to the HUPD.

Please note: Deposits and keys will only be given to the borrower, not other students or staff. We ask for your help in communicating with faculty regarding visitors and others who may need keys in advance of their actual arrival.

If you have any further questions, please contact Maggie Kenar ().
