Prof. Norman Yao has been awarded [Outstanding Young Researcher Award](https://ocpaweb.org/home/page/oyra-ardentec-prize) (otherwise known as OYRA Ardentec Prize) by the International Organization of Chinese Physicists and Astronomers “for \[his\] seminal experimental and theoretical contributions at the interface between condensed matter and atomic, molecular, and optical physics.”

The award is given annually to one to two physicist(s) and/or astronomer(s) of Chinese ethnicity working in North America, Europe, or other regions outside Asia, to encourage and recognize the young researcher’s contributions in physics or astronomy.
