Congratulations to Prof. Jenny Hoffman who, for a third time in a row, won the national title in "North Coast 24," the USA Track & Field National Championship 24 Hour Run, held annually in Cleveland, Ohio. Prof. Hoffman's 142 miles run - her best performance yet - earned her a slot on team USA to compete at the World Championships in Belfast next summer. Dr. David Morin was the "pit crew," keeping Prof. Hoffman fueled and hydrated every 0.9 miles for 24 hours straight! Prof. Hoffman will donate most of her winnings to the Special Olympics.
USA fields a team of 6 women and 6 men to the World Championship, which is held every odd year. The women's team has won gold at the last 2 World Championships and most of the women on the team (including Prof. Hoffman) have met the A standard for the men's team!
