Robert Westervelt received his PhD in Physics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1977. Following a postdoctoral appointment, he moved to Harvard University, where he is currently the Mallinckrodt Professor of Applied Physics and Physics. He is the Director of the Center for Nanoscale Systems at Harvard (<ciqm@fas.harvard.edu>), which provides shared facilities for nanofabrication and imaging of quantum materials and devices. In addition, he is the Director of the NSF Science and Technology Center for Integrated Quantum Materials (<ciqm@harvard.edu>) based at Harvard, with partnerships at Howard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the Museum of Science, Boston.
