Vishwanath elected to the National Academy of Sciences

Ashvin Vishwanath, George Vasmer Leverett Professor of Physics, has been elected to the National Academy of Sciences.

The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) is a private, nonprofit organization of the country’s leading researchers that recognizes and promotes outstanding science through election to membership; publication in its journal, PNAS; and its awards, programs, and special activities. Members are elected to the NAS in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research. Membership is a widely accepted mark of excellence in science and is considered one of the highest honors that a scientist can receive.
